DORO Likes: Thesis Review of IED Research Master in Advanced Design for Transportation
On October 27th 2010, IED presented at Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo: 3 Scenarios for Torino 2100 a Thesis Review for the Master in Advanced Design for Transportation. The course envisages a network logic, identifying areas of research related to the specific identity of each IED location and the valorisation of their cultural and methodological differences.
All the students presenting their thesis made a research on landscape, technology, social environments, human condition and of course transportation design in a 2100 Turin. The future was the core of the projects that included use of nanotechnology, cyborg and integrated circuits, human energy used as device and transportation design inspired by different shapes and materials. The 3 scenarios also represented a futuristic and fascinating view of our city: reconstructed after a terroristic attack or just smarter and directly linked to cars and people.
The event was presented by IED Turin Director César Mendoza and Master Coordinator Paolo Trevisan, who’s also R&D Chief designer at Pininfarina Extra. Dario Olivero “Futuro” and Stefano Ollino where tutor and professor on this one, helping the students on doing a fantastic job.
I’m not a designer and I’m still excited for what I’ve seen. It must mean something.
