DORODESIGN Likes: China Power Station Exhibition at Pinacoteca Agnelli
Sometimes Contemporary art it’s just art that everybody can say it’s not. Chinese artists, they know what they’re doing.
The Pinacoteca Giovanni e Marella Agnelli continues its exploration of the theme of collections, presenting CHINA POWER STATION Contemporary Chinese Art from the Astrup Fearnley Collection. The Turin show presents the creative explosion of contemporary Chinese art: installations, films, sculptures,photographs, computer graphics and paintings tell stories about universal topics ofpower and politics, real and flowing identities, history, memory and nostalgia. Otherworks take abstract notions like time, unpredictability, chance and illusion.
Favourites: Liu Wei “Love it, Bite it” a complex city rebuilt on a floor made by pigskin and bones for dogs; Chu Yun “Constellation n.2” a dark room lightened by lots of little spots that in fact are… (see the photo below).
